Mrs. Reed's Language Arts Class

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER

My name is Liz Reed, and I have been a teacher at some capacity for the last 20 years. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University after graduating from Owasso High School. I was a member of the Owasso Colorguard staff for 12 years- 7 of which I served as Director. I've taught high school Careers and Current Events, high school ELA and 5th grade.  I've been married to my husband, Bobby, who is also an Owasso alum, for fifteen years. We have four incredible kids- Brady is 13 and in 8th grade, Dawson is 11 and in 6th grade, Easton is 9 and in 4th grade, and our sweet Josie is 7 and in 2nd grade. I love hanging with my family, watching my kids play sports, reading and watching Hallmark. I'm a certified Pilates instructor, but I love donuts and diet coke! :) My family spent the last eight years in Phoenix, Arizona, and we can honestly say, "there's no place like home!" We're thankful to be back in this community, and I am excited to partner with you in your child's education- Go Rams!

OUR CLASS GOALS

As your teacher, my top priority is to prepare you for high school using extensive reading and writing opportunities through innovative approaches that will make learning fun and engaging. Almost everything you need for my class can be accessed through this web page and Google Classroom. Most of what we do is done electronically.  I am here to assist you and will do my best to help you reach your own personal goals.

This site is VERY BASIC as I have moved most content to Google Classroom.  The purpose of this page is to introduce you to our classroom, to help you get started with Google Classroom, see a supply list, and provide you with some web links we will be needing throughout the year.  I recommend placing a shortcut on your phone or other devices so you can access this page with one click.  We will utilize Google Classroom most of the time. Parents should also download the Classroom app and join our classroom as a parent to receive regular notifications.

Parents, in order to do this, email me and put your child's hour and name in the subject line.  In the body of the email, just write "add me", and I will add you using the address you used to contact me.  This will add you to all of your child's classes that use Google Classroom, so you will not have to do this again. :)

Daily assignments are posted online in Google Classroom.  If you miss a day of class, it is a student responsibility to check Classroom and complete your assignment for the day. If you have any questions about assignments, you can reach me through Classroom or email until 4:00 on school days.

Students and parents, if you have any questions at all or need anything else from me, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I really do love to help, and I will do my best to do that for you!
