Education has been my profession and passion for 20 years.  I have a Bachelor's degree from Northeastern State University and am also a National Board Certified Teacher.  Education spans way beyond the classroom. I am a passionate educator and absolutely love the teaching and learning process.  It will be a WONDERFUL YEAR if students keep an open mind, give effort, and practice respect.  I will teach the standards and skills that will help students in ALL other academic courses as well as critical thinking skills in used in life.  I will challenge them to be their best and see what they can accomplish outside of their comfort zones.  This year will be great!

As your teacher, my top priority is to prepare you for high school using extensive reading and writing opportunities through innovative approaches that will make learning fun and engaging. Most everything you need for my class can be accessed through this web page and Google Classroom. Most of what we do is done electronically.  I am here to assist you and will do my best to help you reach your own personal goals.

This site is VERY BASIC as I have moved most content to Google Classroom.  Its purpose is to introduce you to our classroom, to help you get started with Google Classroom, see a supply list, and provides you with some web links we will be needing throughout the year.  I recommend placing a shortcut on your phone or other devices so you can access this page with one click.  We will utilize Google Classroom most of the time.  Google classroom codes are provided below. Parents should also download the app and join our classroom as a parent if they want to get notifications.  In order to do this, you must complete the form below.  This will add you for all classes that use Google Classroom.  You will not have to do this again.

Daily Assignments are posted online in Google Classroom.  If you miss a day of class, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to check classroom and complete the assignments each day.   Most handouts will be posted for that day.

All join codes for curriculum platforms used will be in their Google Classroom under the "New Students" Tab.
Once students have been added to Google Classroom, parents can join by completing these easy steps.  This will send you automatic updates daily regarding work posted in Google Classroom.  If students are absent, they will not be given a written slip of all their work.  Work will be posted in Google Classroom under the "Daily Weekly Agenda" tab and it is the student's responsibility to come ask for specific handouts.
VIRTUAL DAYS:  In the event we are scheduled for virtual days, Pivot to Home, students should log into Google Classroom during their regular course time as if they were at school and click on the Google Meet link in the top left corner of the class page.  I will be present and will take attendance.  Class will be conducted as if we were in the classroom.  It is not optional.  You may be in your pajamas, but must adhere to school policy and practice modesty.  If you are not appropriate in either dress or language, you will be asked to leave and parents will be notified.
